About The Position

The position is responsible for leading the Commingling Team as part of the mailing process. The shift is 2nd Shift: 4:45 PM to 3:00 AM Monday to Friday and Saturday as needed. This may require arriving before the start or leaving after the end of the scheduled shift for set up or shut down purposes. The location is Itasca, Illinois.

Requirements

  • Team leadership or supervisory experience in a production, distribution or manufacturing process is required.
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and quality control.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus/prioritize on multiple opportunities at one time.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and twist throughout shift.
  • Must to be able to work in a fast paced environment and multitask during the shift.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude are require.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the mailing industry, manufacturing or warehouse environment utilizing conveyor systems or assembly lines preferred.
  • Experience with training personnel and developing front line leaders is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the mailing is prepared in a timely fashion and properly staged for Commingle Execution.
  • Monitors employee performance and provides feedback to address any issues related to work rule violations or performance deficiencies.
  • Oversees the department in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
  • Collaborates with other Assistant Supervisor on the shift to meet production objectives.
  • Work in alignment with the Supervisor to execute the mailings and ensure that processes are properly followed.
  • Work with the Supervisor to execute the training program for Operations Personnel and verify employee capability and development.
  • Support the management of Temporary Personnel and ensure that they are properly checked into the building, trained, and properly introduced to UBM Operations.
  • Support the execution of an objective performance-based assessment program to facilitate the capability-based pay scale strategy.
  • Communicate Performance Results, Identify Opportunities and Celebrate Successes.
  • Conduct verification reviews of quality documentation and mailing paperwork to ensure the process is conducted properly and in alignment with established procedures and requirements.
  • Provide guidance to team leads and shift employees regarding UBM policies, procedures and processes.
