About The Position

Support the Demand Response Manager by providing leadership & administrative support for the Transit Dispatch Center which includes both paratransit & fixed route operations.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be able to pass all drug and/or alcohol screenings required by the UW Drug and Alcohol Policy. This would include a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP
  • High School Graduate or GED and one year of customer service experience.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision & coordination of the Transit Dispatch Center.
  • Assist the Manager in the supervision of 5-7 part-time dispatchers: contribute to performance evaluations.
  • Fill in as paratransit supervisor in the absence of the Manager
  • Assist the Manager in hiring part-time dispatchers
  • Provide training for new dispatchers and ensure that they are prepared to perform job duties on their own. Continuously monitor performance and provide any retraining as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation on the enforcement of departmental policies & procedures and any federal/state regulations.
  • Respond to and investigate complaints/incidents/accidents.
  • Provide administrative support for paratransit operations: fare reconciliation, preparing rider notices, and maintaining transit related data.
  • Act as the liaison with the dispatch software provider, manage technology tickets and ensure problems are resolved.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
