About The Position

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Supervisor to help lead our Adult Day Services Program. This leadership position offers the opportunity to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while helping oversee program operations, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality, person-centered services are delivered every day. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Special Education, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a direct support, vocational, or adult day program setting.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screenings and maintain compliance with agency drug testing requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting with staff supervision, program coordination, and daily operational functions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of Adult Day Services operations to ensure programs run efficiently and effectively.
  • Partner with program leadership to maintain high standards of service delivery and participant care.
  • Help coordinate daily staffing needs, workflow, and communication to support smooth program operations.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and ongoing support to program staff while promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Assist in monitoring participant progress toward individualized goals related to independence, vocational development, and daily living skills.
  • Encourage meaningful participation in community activities, vocational experiences, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Review documentation and participant records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency standards.
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and person-centered environment for individuals receiving services.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance participant outcomes and overall program success.
  • Collaborate with families, Support Coordinators, funding agencies, and community partners to ensure coordinated, individualized supports.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, staff, and interdisciplinary teams to address participant needs and program priorities.
  • Foster positive relationships that strengthen services and encourage community inclusion.
