About The Position

This position is responsible for leading assigned shifts of the Auto Train team to complete daily loading and/or unloading of vehicles from the carriers, maintaining loading records including records of drivers and chockers who work on each vehicle, directs traffic onto the carriers, and inspects loaded carriers.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Requires High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills).
  • At least one (1) years of transportation industry work experience required.
  • Must have working knowledge of general HR practices (i.e., onboarding procedures) and relevant laws, for example FMLA and HIPPA.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal), analytical, and persuasive skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of clients, employees, and leadership.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have strong supervisory, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • General working knowledge of FRA regulations, OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards, DOT standards and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  • General understanding of equipment capabilities and requirements of different types of jobs.
  • Ability to work in a wide range of environments including those involving hazardous conditions which may require lifting or exerting force exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary contact for the client during assigned shifts, and coordinates with the Drummac Auto Train Supervisor on any necessary adjustments to meet the client’s needs.
  • Leads the team during assigned shifts to operate efficiently by adjusting staffing levels daily according to the volume need while maintaining first in class customer service.
  • Monitors operations to ensure that staff members comply with all safety rules.
  • Promotes safe work activities and sets expectations of the team to ensure safe practices are always followed.
  • Supervises employee performance and coaches in the moment to ensure daily routines are followed closely.
  • Assists with new hire training and policy and procedure compliance when assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Submits a daily report of loading records, inventory, and staffing as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Ensures that all employees perform to the required standards of operation.
  • Requires constant and close interaction with the management team as well as Drummac’s client.
  • Wears and uses required protective equipment while working.
  • Takes responsibility for own safety while on the job and drives a safety focus with the entire team.
  • Travel periodically (up to 25% travel or as directed by management).
  • Other duties as assigned.
