Suffolk is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute construction programs according to Suffolk’s procedures, including safety, quality, and schedule. Responsibilities may be divided by project area or trade discipline. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in related construction fields
  • Self-motivated

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and distribute construction documents (Plans, Specifications, RFI’s, Bulletins, and Field Reports) to the project team.
  • Manage layout and confirm/verify the correctness of field dimensions.
  • Verify subcontractor layout for compliance with established line and grade.
  • Administer Suffolk’s Quality Management Program, including First Delivery and Benchmark Inspections, documenting and tracking deficiencies to resolution.
  • Continuously monitor job progress on-site, checking work for compliance with Contract Documents.
  • Monitor and document daily construction activity using written reports, photographs, sketches, and software tools.
  • Help create and distribute daily and weekly work plans, including schedules and logistics plans.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with customers and clients, providing construction status updates and addressing concerns.
  • Compile and maintain all required permits, testing, and inspections for project completion and acceptance.
  • Assist in the administration of the Suffolk Safety Program, including pre-construction meetings, pre-task planning, daily monitoring, and enforcement of safety requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor Suffolk’s Field Engineers in their daily work.
  • Communicate clear expectations for safety to project teams.
