About The Position

AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Superintendent for our construction project in Sacramento, CA. This role involves assisting the Superintendent in managing daily field operations for a high-rise project from ground-up through completion. The Assistant Superintendent will coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and field staff, enforce jobsite safety, monitor work progress, assist with site logistics, maintain daily reports, and participate in various project meetings and closeout activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of commercial construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably on high-rise or multi-story projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems
  • Familiarity with California building codes and safety regulations
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
  • OSHA 10
  • Interior build-out coordination: drywall/gypsum board, taping, priming/painting, wall coverings, ceilings (ACT/grid, drywall ceilings), quality control, trade coordination, etc.
  • Final fixtures and closeout scope: restroom accessories, signage, specialty items, punchlist readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in managing daily field operations for a high-rise project from ground-up through completion
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and field staff to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Enforce jobsite safety in compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations and company policies
  • Monitor work progress, identify potential delays, and help implement corrective actions
  • Assist with site logistics, material deliveries, and equipment coordination
  • Maintain daily reports, field logs, and documentation
  • Participate in subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and coordination meetings
  • Help manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities
