About The Position

The Assistant Superintendent plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the field office and the project. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure that all on-site construction activities are carried out efficiently and effectively, meeting the high standards set by the organization.

  • Travel with in contiguous United States and Hawaii
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs, to attend meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time including all 7 days of the week.
  • Travel requirement is at least 75%
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.
  • Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk, climb stairs and move around active construction sites for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 50 pounds of files, documents, and materials as needed.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.
  • Ability to work as/when needed includes all 7 days of the week, days or nights.
  • Ability to work in varied site conditions including outdoor conditions, cold or warm environments and active general industry or construction areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in managing the daily operations of the construction department.
  • Ensure all construction activities meet the organization's high standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate all trades on the project, including subcontractors according to Superintendent’s direction.
  • Maintain and distributes up to date drawings and specifications
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate necessary supplies and equipment needed to complete tasks onsite
  • Monitor project progress and report on milestones and any issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality and safety policies and procedures for the project
  • Assist in scheduling and planning construction activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure that all workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to the construction schedule
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
  • Other duties as assigned
