About The Position

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Superintendent to join their Mission Critical team. This role involves supervising site logistics, planning material deliveries, coordinating with subcontractors, and collaborating with project managers to ensure the delivery of exceptional projects. The ideal candidate is a hard-working leader with a strong commitment to safety and superior quality, preferring to manage the construction process from the field.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of construction experience
  • Ability to travel across the country is required
  • Computer skills: proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence

Nice To Haves

  • Ground up commercial or industrial experience preferred
  • Pre-cast or tilt-up construction experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings to receive project information and details for pre-planning.
  • Participate with the project manager in preparing construction schedules, organization structures, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
  • Direct and control the construction project to meet specifications and timelines efficiently, aiming for expected profit.
  • Assist the project manager/engineer with prompt material shipment and obtaining approvals for shop drawings and material samples.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities for effective performance and integration with project schedules.
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors of construction schedule changes.
  • Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports to reflect actual costs.
  • Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports.
  • Cooperate with the owner and their representatives, providing updates on construction progress.
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives in the company's long-term interest.
  • Hold jobsite meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
  • Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company's safety program in all project phases and areas.
