About The Position

The purpose of this position is to gain experience and provide support in the supervision of the activities and resources required to maintain the golf course to predetermined standards. This position involves driving a company vehicle and/or company insured vehicle. Assist in the application of sound turf management practices. Gaining exposure in all facets of the operation. These include but are not limited to scheduling, calibration and application of plant protectants, cultural practices, irrigation and moisture management, renovation etc. Provide a leadership role to all associates using accepted management techniques to improve and maintain high quality standards. Perform other job duties as assigned with a positive attitude and desire to learn with an emphasis on attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled or graduate of a Certificate, 2 or 4 year program in turf grass management related degree.
  • 1 year related experience through internships and/or co-ops.
  • Must have NC Pesticide License or ability to attain one within 6 months of hire.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines.
  • Follow safe, defensive driving practices at all times, obey all traffic laws, regulations, signals and markings, use a seat belt, and follow Company policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy.
  • Never drive while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely.
  • Report any accidents immediately and cooperate fully with insurance claims investigations.
  • Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment.
  • Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks.
