About The Position

Reeves Young is seeking an Assistant Superintendent - Commercial to support the Superintendent in overseeing all on-site construction activities. This role involves supervising field employees, subcontractors, and material vendors to ensure the project schedule is met. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining daily progress reports, including documentation of work progress with pictures, payroll and equipment time reporting, field reports, schedule updates, and email correspondence to keep all stakeholders informed. This position requires active participation in project team and trade contractor meetings to discuss schedule, safety, cleanliness, and manpower needs for successful project delivery. Additionally, the role includes managing the permit and inspection process and attending or conducting progress meetings.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand project documents, e.g., drawings, specifications, RFI's, submittals, subcontracts, and the owner agreement terms and conditions specific to your role.
  • Ability to understand project scheduling and cost control.
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies on project plans.
  • May require performing general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Superintendent by assisting in the supervision of all on-site construction for the jobsite.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of field employees, subcontractors and material vendors to expedite the project schedule.
  • Maintain daily progress reporting and paperwork such as daily reports including pictures of work progress, payroll and equipment time reporting for crew, field reports, schedule updates and email correspondence.
  • Participate and speak to entire project team and trade contractors regarding schedule, safety, cleanliness and manpower needs.
  • Manage the permit and inspection process.
  • Attend or conduct regularly scheduled progress meetings.
