About The Position

The Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach will design, program, implement & monitor the strength and conditioning program for all assigned intercollegiate teams. Under the supervision of the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, the Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach is responsible for the development of sport-specific weight training regimens for all intercollegiate student athletes, including demonstrating proper weight training technique and prescribed exercises. Monitor and demonstrate safe lifting technique and practices. Track and evaluate individual and team attendance & performance with designed strength & conditioning programs. Collaborate with Athletic Training staff and coaches to develop strength & conditioning programs to strengthen overall performance and to prevent injuries. Assist the Athletic Training staff in monitoring rehabilitation programs. Requires a working knowledge of NCAA compliance rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CSCS Certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association or SCCC Certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
  • 1+ years relevant strength and conditioning coach experience on the Collegiate level.
  • Basic working knowledge of the operations of an athletic strength and conditioning program.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Ability to visually monitor athletes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience coaching Olympic lifts.
  • Three or more years as Strength and Conditioning Coach in a intercollegiate athletic program.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III legislation regarding permissible activities by student athletes.
  • Adjust coaching techniques, based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes and maintain knowledge of best practices in the field.
  • Evaluate athletes' skills and review performance records to determine their fitness and potential in a particular area of athletics.
