Assistant Storekeeper (IBEW SCU-8)
About The Position
This position reports to the Stores supervisor and shall assist in the operation of the storeroom. The Assistant Storekeeper (ASK) is expected to achieve effective performance and control of the receiving, shipping, storing, transferring, cycle counting, and issuing of parts and materials. Other duties include but are not limited to recording all transactions, loading, unloading, and transporting parts, material and equipment. The ASK must demonstrate the ability to progress to the Storekeeper position, with progress measured by meeting qualification requirements outlined in the Stores Development Manual. The position has call-out responsibilities and requires availability to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends, or holidays, and in all weather conditions. It also requires the ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, in alignment with Duke Energy standards & procedures
- Ability to hold themselves, and others, accountable for safe and effective delivery of products & services
- Must be qualified to operate a forklift or ability to become qualified
- Must have the ability to record and conduct basic mathematics
- Able to effectively use technological tools and systems specific to the job
- Valid Driver's License
Nice To Haves
- Warehouse experience
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Basic computer skills
- Attention to detail
