About The Position

Sally Beauty is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all areas of store operations, customer experience, and team development. This role is designed for development, with the Assistant Manager taking full responsibility for primary duties when the Store Manager is absent. The position focuses on driving sales, maintaining brand standards, engaging and developing associates, ensuring operational efficiency, and upholding safety and loss prevention protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred
  • At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives
  • Can effectively communicate with team and management
  • Must have scheduling availability to meet the needs of the business

Nice To Haves

  • Cosmetology license desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct associates' daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximizing sales/KPIs and driving customer loyalty.
  • Ensure all brand standards are met, including merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, and dress code.
  • Act as the main point of contact to resolve customer issues and concerns.
  • Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands.
  • Engage, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results.
  • Leverage internal hiring platforms and actively recruit to build a strong network of external candidates.
  • Identify associate strengths and opportunities, providing coaching or counseling.
  • Hold the team accountable to Company policies and expectations.
  • Maintain positive associate relations by resolving concerns and keeping associates informed.
  • Build strong working relationships with Store Manager peers and maintain consistent communication with AM/DM.
  • Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Ensure execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all processes supporting digital strategies are utilized, such as Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS).
  • Manage inventory through ordering and shipment processing.
  • Manage payroll hours to the needs of the business and schedule appropriately.
  • Ensure all store opening and closing procedures are performed correctly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate follow-through with Company directives, assignments, and projects.
  • Ensure the store environment is safe at all times for associates and customers.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
  • Protect company assets by ensuring inventory and cash control procedures are followed regarding shrink, damages, banking, etc.
  • Analyze and utilize all available reporting, tools, and technology.
  • Ensure stores are compliant with all HAZMAT training and execution.
