Assistant Store Manager
About The Position
This role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, including employee training, coaching, and management. The Assistant Store Manager will also be responsible for customer interaction, product recommendations, service scheduling, processing paperwork, utilizing company computer systems for billing and inventory, and acting as a shop foreman and service writer. Additional duties include answering phones, assisting customers, performing tire changes, providing front desk support, cashing out customers, and supporting tire deliveries. The position may also require performing duties of a tire technician when needed.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Possess basic mathematical skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form
- Basic computer skills; training will be provided as needed
- Must be good at communicating with customers, employees and vendors in person, on the phone and via electronic tools such as e-mail and text messaging
- Driver's License & clean driving record required
- Minimum of 3 years in the tire industry required
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Responsibilities
- Support many functions, including filling in for the store manager during absences
- Collaborate with Store Manager on the daily operations of the store and in the training, coaching, and managing of employees
- Assist with scheduling employees, completing time-clock reporting, and assigning work
- Interact with customers, recommend products and scheduled service
- Process paperwork and utilize company computer systems to help maintain proper billing and inventory
- Act as a shop foreman and as a service writer
- Answer phones, assist customers, and perform tire changes
- Provide hands-on support to front desk
- Cash out customers and support and conduct tire deliveries
- Perform duties of tire technician when needed
