About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in the operation of a store that sells new and used merchandise. A key aspect of this role is to serve as an instructor in the subject of "work" to individuals seeking training or job placement assistance, emphasizing a strong work ethic and passion for quality. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting with employee scheduling, supervising store personnel to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures, and enforcing safety and security protocols. This role also involves direct sales of merchandise, receiving and processing inventory, donations, and returns, and ensuring correct sales procedures are followed. Additionally, the Assistant Store Manager supports daily administrative and clerical functions, including cash transactions, bank deposits, supply ordering, maintaining records, analyzing sales data, and training store personnel. Customer service and complaint resolution are also key duties.

Requirements

  • Sales experience
  • Cashier experience
  • Sufficient knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in the operation of the store.

  • Assist the Store Manager in performing daily administrative and clerical functions.
  • Handle cash transactions, daily bank deposits, and ordering of supplies.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining store records, reviewing sales receipts, and determining operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the proper training of store personnel.
  • Assist customers and handle customer complaints.
