Assistant Store Manager- Malvern
About The Position
Kimberton Whole Foods is looking for a career-minded, full-time Assistant Store Manager to join our Malvern Team! This role involves assisting with daily store operations, leading in staffing, incidents, facilities, and category management, and supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales and labor goals. The Assistant Store Manager will also collaborate on merchandising, ordering, and quality control, and play a key role in hiring, training, and developing team members. This position requires the ability to step into Store Manager or Department Head responsibilities during absences and to provide leadership that fosters teamwork and drives results, while maintaining a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 3-5 years of leading a team in a fast-paced food-related or retail environment.
- Effective communicator and enthusiastic about customer service.
- Passion for the local and natural foods industry.
- Goal to grow into the Store Manager position.
- Embody the spirit of leading with service, setting a positive tone for a productive and happy team.
- Understand the importance of pacing and can shift gears in accordance to volume, time, and temperature demands.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- Diligent about workplace safety and proper food handling.
- Full Sense Range (Vision, Hearing, and Sense of Smell) – the ability to read product labels, distinguish color and smell for quality control as well as the ability to communicate with customers and co-workers.
- Lifting, Gripping and Carrying Objects – Up to 50 to 75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools, and other products.
- Stooping, Squatting, and Kneeling – Stoop and maneuver to pick up boxes from shelving and carts.
- Walking – Short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas.
- Standing – Prolonged standing.
- Work Environment – Movement based with most of the time being in motion (walking/standing) rather than sedentary (sitting).
- Climate – Ability to work in cold environments (cooler, freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods of time on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Creating and fostering an exceptional store experience for customers and team members alike.
- Assisting with the daily operations of the store, leading in regard to staffing, incidents, facilities, and category management.
- Supporting the Store Manager in accomplishing sales and labor goals.
- Working with the Store Manager and all Department Heads to closely follow the KWF daily merchandising, ordering, and quality control guidelines.
- Hiring, training, coaching, and development of team members in collaboration with the Store Manager and Human Resources.
- Assuming the Store Manager and/or Department Head responsibilities during vacations and times of team member transitions.
- Providing leadership that inspires teamwork, generates energy and enthusiasm, and drives results.
- Maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
