Assistant Store Manager
About The Position
Store Space Self Storage is seeking a driven, organized, and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager for its storage facility in Syracuse, New York. The role supports facility operations and customer service in a self-storage business focused on delivering best-in-class service. The position is hourly, with a stated rate of $16.00–$19.00. The Assistant Store Manager helps increase sales by converting prospective customers into rentals and upselling, maintains the facility, responds to customer inquiries, handles cash and daily reporting, and follows company standards and policies. The facility is open seven days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; weekend shifts may be required. The role may involve travel between multiple locations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of customer service experience, such as retail sales, restaurant, front desk, or site management experience.
- At least 1 year of customer-centered sales and collections (cold calling) experience.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new applications.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Valid car insurance with the applicant's name listed on the policy.
- Ability to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and typical office machines.
Responsibilities
- Increase sales by converting opportunities to rentals and upselling.
- Manage facility upkeep, including cleaning bathrooms, hallways, and the lobby.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries.
- Handle cash, complete reporting, and make daily deposits.
- Maintain company standards and adhere to policies.
- Travel between multiple locations as needed.
