About The Position

Sally Beauty is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all areas of store operations, customer experience, and team development. This role is designed for development, with the Assistant Manager taking full responsibility for primary duties when the Store Manager is absent. The position focuses on achieving key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, strategic planning, and effective leadership, while maintaining brand standards and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred
  • At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives
  • Can effectively communicate with team and management
  • Must have scheduling availability to meet the needs of the business

Nice To Haves

  • Cosmetology license desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and directing associates' daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximize sales/KPIs, and drive customer loyalty.
  • Ensuring all brand standards are met, including merchandising, planograms, marketing, backroom organization, and dress code.
  • Acting as the main point of contact to resolve customer issues and concerns, and analyzing store trends to anticipate customer demands.
  • Engaging, training, and developing teams to achieve positive results.
  • Utilizing internal hiring platforms and actively recruiting to build a strong network of external candidates.
  • Identifying associate strengths and opportunities, and effectively addressing them through coaching or counseling.
  • Holding the team accountable to Company policies and expectations.
  • Maintaining positive associate relations by resolving concerns and keeping associates informed.
  • Building strong working relationships with Store Manager peers and maintaining consistent communication with Area Managers/District Managers.
  • Fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Ensuring the execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring all processes supporting digital strategies, such as Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS), are utilized.
  • Managing inventory through ordering and shipment processing.
  • Managing payroll hours according to business needs and scheduling appropriately.
  • Ensuring all store opening and closing procedures are performed correctly.
  • Following through on Company directives, assignments, and projects in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensuring the store environment is safe at all times for associates and customers.
  • Enforcing all safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Protecting company assets by ensuring inventory and cash control procedures are followed to minimize shrink, damages, etc.
  • Analyzing and utilizing all available reporting, tools, and technology.
  • Ensuring stores are compliant with all HAZMAT training and execution.
