We are currently hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail store at San Marcos Premium Outlets in San Marcos, Texas. As a key member of the store leadership team, you will support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and representing the Spring Step brand with integrity and enthusiasm. The Assistant Store Manager partners closely with the Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store. This role plays a critical part in driving sales, developing associates, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and ensuring operational excellence. In the Store Manager's absence, you will assume leadership of the store and maintain the highest standards of performance.

Requirements

At least 1 year of prior retail experience in a sales-driven environment.
Proven track record in sales and service execution.
Proficiency with basic software and experience using POS systems.
Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and climb an 8-foot ladder.
Ability to stand for long periods and bend as necessary.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Partner with store leadership to foster a positive and results-driven culture of sales and performance for all associates.
Support a team-selling environment that benefits the Spring Step brand, associates, and customers alike.
Participate in all aspects of store recruitment, focusing on retaining and developing top talent for the store.
Teach, coach, and train store associates within the guidelines set by the Store Manager and field leadership.
Take responsibility for performance management and employee relations issues within the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
Ensure proper merchandising of products per company directives and assist in executing marketing initiatives and store displays.
Provide world-class customer service and instill a customer-first attitude within the store’s sales team.
Oversee store asset security through adherence to risk management policies, including daily bank deposits, opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and compliance with store balances.
Drive a sales culture by using incentives, effective communication, and consistent brand promotion.
Use daily productivity targets to ensure appropriate staffing levels in the store and communicate goals clearly to all associates.
Ensure store asset security through strict adherence to risk management policies, including daily bank deposits, opening and closing procedures, stock counts, and inventory management.
