About The Position

Beyond Yoga is a premium active lifestyle brand that emphasizes body positivity and creates comfortable, easy-care clothing. Founded in 2005 and now part of Levi Strauss & Co., the brand has a strong online presence and multiple physical stores. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for operational excellence, including daily store procedures, payroll, cash handling, and inventory control. This role supports the Store Manager in leading the team to achieve sales goals, focusing on employee engagement and a collaborative selling environment. The Assistant Store Manager will also drive process adoption, open and close the store, resolve customer concerns, and strategize to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion, units per transaction, and sales per hour. Additionally, this role involves assisting with hiring, training, and retaining store staff, executing visual merchandising standards, managing product inventory, preventing losses, and coaching staff for development and growth. The Assistant Store Manager will also handle minor employee relations issues and ensure adherence to company policies. Collaboration with the store team and Home Office partners on community engagement and brand awareness is also a key aspect of this role, acting as a brand ambassador embodying company values.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for operational excellence in execution of daily store procedures, payroll management, cash handling and inventory control.
  • Support the Store Manager in leading the team in achieving daily/weekly/monthly sales goals and financial plan with a primary focus on employee engagement and a collaborative selling environment.
  • Accountable to store manager for driving process adoption, opening and closing the store as a visible service leader and supporting resolution of customer concerns with a positive outcome.
  • Assess and strategize how to drive performance goals (Conversion, Units Per Transaction, Sales Per Hour and other measurable KPI’s).
  • Assist in the interviewing, hiring, training and retention of store team.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires educating on Beyond Yoga core values, product knowledge, selling culture, and other employee responsibilities.
  • Execute flawless store visual presentation by following corporate visual direction and recommending merchandising adaptations where needed.
  • Ensure sound product inventory management through accurate receiving and sending processes, aides in the completion of all required business directives (ex. price changes/retickets, RTVs, markdowns, transfers).
  • Prevent losses by educating associates on customer service and ensuring company policies are being followed.
  • Coach and develop staff to increase their knowledge and skill sets, providing opportunities for continued development and growth within the organization.
  • Manage minor employee relations issues including performance management.
  • Hold associates accountable for following Beyond Yoga and LS&Co policies and procedures.
  • Build relationships and foster a positive, diverse, and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with store team and Home Office partners on building connections with the local community by way of events, drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Be a brand ambassador that embodies and can cultivate the company’s core values.
