About The Position

This is a Full-Time Exempt Position. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for directly supervising Department Leads, Managers on Duty, and Departmental Staff. Key duties include communicating performance expectations, training, providing feedback, evaluating performance, and recognizing achievements. The role also involves creating and monitoring daily staffing schedules, managing punctuality and attendance, and administering staff vacation schedules. The Assistant Store Manager is expected to anticipate and respond to customer needs, advance quality and efficiency in store operations and personnel performance, and administer employee corrective actions according to established policies. They will lead and model floor supervision standards, monitor buying, processing, and sales systems, and oversee store/merchandise presentation. Additionally, the Assistant Store Manager will back up the Store Manager and Operations Manager in their absence and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager and President.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise the Department Leads, MODS and Departmental Staff: communicate performance expectations, train to expectations, provide feedback, evaluate/review performance, recognize and address performance achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Create and monitor daily store staffing schedules, punctuality and attendance.
  • Administer staff vacation schedules.
  • Anticipate and respond to customer needs.
  • Advance quality and efficiency in all aspects of store operations and personnel performance.
  • Administer employee corrective actions according to established policies and procedures.
  • Lead and model expected standards of floor supervision for Managers on Duty.
  • Monitor buying, processing, and sales systems.
  • Monitor store/merchandise presentation.
  • Back up the duties of the Store Manager and Operations Manager in their absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Store Manager and President.
