About The Position

Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio and Guadalupe Valley is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (HC1) to manage all phases of warehouse and store operations in the store manager’s absence. This role involves assisting the store manager in supervising personnel, overseeing shipping and receiving, maintaining operational forms and financial records, managing inventory, coordinating with other departments, and overseeing the upkeep of a large facility. The position also includes responsibilities for donor cultivation and the implementation of safety procedures.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience in retail management.
  • POS experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in customer service.
  • Demonstrated competence in personnel management.
  • Demonstrated competence in personnel coaching and development.
  • Demonstrated competence in safety management.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrated competence in inventory control.
  • Strong organizational skills: high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with Habitat’s fleet policy requirements.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires some bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching, and sitting.
  • Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to dust, and fumes from warehouse equipment and vehicles.
  • Must be able to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Requires accurate mathematical calculation abilities (add, subtract, multiply, & divide).

Responsibilities

  • Manages all phases of warehouse and store operation in the store manager’s absence.
  • Assists the store manager in supervising store and warehouse personnel including scheduling, training, hiring, discipline, and evaluation.
  • Assists the store manager with oversight of shipping and receiving of freight.
  • Assists the store manager in maintaining all operational forms, financial records, and processes.
  • Assists the manager in all inventory control and maintenance.
  • Coordinates store and warehouse operations with all other Habitat departments.
  • Oversight of maintenance and upkeep of a 50,000-100,000 + square foot facility.
  • Responsible for cultivation of new and existing donors.
  • Responsible for the implementation and oversight of safety procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
