About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps maintain facility cleanliness and operational excellence, build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, present a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts. This location is closed on Sundays.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform indoor and outdoor duties, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, and lifting.
• Ability to regularly lift or move items up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience preferred.
• College education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness through ongoing upkeep of the office, storage buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas, including sweeping and mopping.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
