About The Position

Altar'd State is a growing women's fashion brand committed to giving back and making a difference. The Assistant Store Leader of Operations supports the Store Leader in achieving store goals, including customer service, sales, operational efficiency, loss prevention, and merchandising. This role focuses on providing exceptional guest service through relationship building and product knowledge, while also driving operational excellence and developing talent. The position involves leading and developing a team, managing store operations, ensuring a positive guest experience, and maintaining brand standards.

Requirements

  • 1 year Retail Management experience
  • Physical ability to perform tasks which may require prolonged standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, and/or squatting frequently.
  • May be required to occasionally climb ladders, climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds regularly without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Store Leader in directing store activities to achieve all goals.
  • Provide exceptional guest service through relationship building and product knowledge.
  • Ensure a clean, well-maintained store environment.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and develop top talent.
  • Foster a guest-focused team environment by driving volume and anticipating guest needs.
  • Achieve excellent guest service by role-modeling company service standards.
  • Provide timely feedback, reward, and recognize associate performance.
  • Hold self and associates accountable for financial results and performance standards.
  • Manage conflict and coach associates using company processes.
  • Empower and involve associates in decision-making.
  • Develop associates through individualized approaches, delegation, and challenging them on results.
  • Foster team commitment through support, relationship building, and recognizing contributions.
  • Lead by managing through change and adversity.
  • Make recommendations on hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Meet or exceed store and individual goals.
  • Engage guests to make their shopping experience exceptional.
  • Co-lead floor sets/refresh management.
  • Manage and oversee scheduling.
  • Manage back-of-house organization.
  • Manage shipment and product preparation process (steaming, hanging, etc.).
  • Plan and manage merchandise markdown process.
  • Manage supply orders, maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Manage inventory/damages audits.
  • Manage banking and loss prevention systems.
  • Train new associates on operational processes.
  • Co-manage payroll and be responsible for store's financial performance.
  • Make decisions regarding store operations and planning.
  • Control workflow through planning and delegation.
  • Execute task directives within designated time frames.
  • Complete opening/closing procedures.
  • Adhere to loss prevention practices and report potential incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with the executive team.
  • Utilize and manage weekly reporting to track, analyze, and communicate business results.
  • Interpret Home Office communication through Store Leader/District Leader partnership.
  • Partner with Visual District Leader and Visual Assistant Store Leader to oversee and manage floorsets, window sets, fixture placement, and visual environment.
  • Maintain awareness of brand aesthetic and relevance to the store environment and communicate with the team.
  • Communicate performance observations and offer feedback to the District Leader.
