About The Position

Altar'd State is a growing women's fashion brand with a mission to 'Stand Out. For Good.' This involves giving back to charitable organizations and supporting communities. The Assistant Store Leader of Operations plays a key role in supporting the Store Leader to achieve store goals, including exceptional guest service, sales targets, expense management, loss prevention, and merchandising. This role focuses on driving sales, operational efficiencies, and developing team talent while ensuring a positive guest and associate experience.

Requirements

  • 1 year Retail Management experience
  • Must be able to lift & carry heavy boxes (up to 30 lbs)
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds regularly without assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Physical ability to perform tasks, which could require prolonged standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling and/or squatting frequently.
  • May be required to occasionally climb ladders, climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Store Leader in directing store activities to achieve all goals.
  • Provide best-in-class guest service through relationship building and product knowledge.
  • Ensure a clean and well-maintained store environment.
  • Drive excellence through increasing sales, finding operational efficiencies, and developing top talent.
  • Foster a guest-focused team environment by driving volume and anticipating guest needs.
  • Achieve excellent guest service by role-modeling company service standards.
  • Provide timely feedback, reward, and recognize associate performance to drive retention.
  • Hold self and associates accountable for financial results and performance standards.
  • Manage conflict and coach by applying company processes and guidelines.
  • Empower and involve associates in decision-making.
  • Develop associates through individualized approaches, delegation, and challenging results.
  • Foster team commitment through support, relationship building, and recognizing contributions.
  • Manage through change and adversity.
  • Make recommendations on hiring, promotions, and terminations based on performance.
  • Engage guests to make their shopping experience exceptional.
  • Co-lead floor sets and refresh management.
  • Manage and oversee scheduling.
  • Manage back-of-house organization.
  • Manage shipment and product preparation processes (steaming, hanging, etc.).
  • Plan and manage the merchandise markdown process.
  • Manage supply orders, maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Manage inventory/damages audits.
  • Manage banking and loss prevention systems.
  • Train new associates on operational processes.
  • Co-manage payroll and be responsible for the store's financial performance.
  • Make decisions regarding store operations and planning.
  • Control workflow through planning and delegation.
  • Execute task directives within designated time frames.
  • Complete opening/closing procedures.
  • Adhere to loss prevention practices and report potential incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with the executive team.
  • Utilize and manage weekly reporting to track, analyze, and communicate business results and strategies.
  • Interpret Home Office communication through partnership with Store Leader/District Leader.
  • Partner with Visual District Leader and Visual Assistant Store Leader to oversee and manage floorsets, window sets, fixture placement, and visual environment.
  • Maintain awareness of brand aesthetic and relevance to the store environment and communicate with the team.
  • Communicate performance observations and offer feedback to the District Leader.
