Join Albertsons Companies for an exciting opportunity as an Assistant Store Director (ASD), a role that involves leading, innovating, and contributing to a company that values great service and lasting customer relationships. This position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ASD provides friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service daily and assists the Store Director (SD) with the total operations of the store. This includes performing various duties personally or through the supervision of over 100 bargaining unit and non-contract employees. ASDs must be willing and able to work and train at any store within the hiring district. The ASD manages the entire store with the authority to operate it at maximum efficiency during the SD's absence. Responsibilities include supervising all store employees, which encompasses orienting new hires, training and development, scheduling and payroll, performance evaluation, and personnel actions like hiring, promoting, and disciplining. ASDs also perform or delegate security and cash control procedures, handle customer complaints, report accidents/injuries, maintain sanitation standards, manage office and accounting functions, ensure in-stock conditions, and facilitate communication between departments and store personnel.
