About The Position

The Assistant Special Teams Coordinator is a support coaching role that helps run and manage the team’s special teams unit. They are responsible for assisting in the planning, teaching, and execution of all special teams units within the football program. Working collaboratively with the Special Teams Coordinator and Head Coach, this role contributes to player development, practice preparation, opponent analysis, recruiting, and overall competitive performance. This role is expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and compliance in alignment with SEC and NCAA regulations and institutional standards. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • At least three or more years of NCAA Division I football coaching experience
  • Experience with NCAA compliance rules
  • Experience with Catapult Thunder film system
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Strong football acumen with emphasis on special teams strategy skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously skills
  • Effective teacher and communication skills with student-athletes and staff
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel

Nice To Haves

  • NCAA Division I special teams coordinator experience
