About The Position

The Opportunity Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach at the Prescott, Arizona Campus. The Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for a variety of coaching, teaching and recruiting issues, along with practice and game-related functions as assigned by the Head Coach.

Requirements

• High School (or GED) level ability in grammar, spelling, basic composition, and math.
• Basic knowledge of the game of softball.
• First Aid / CPR

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to softball student-athletes on the fundamentals and strategies of softball.
• Assist in recruiting and retaining highly skilled student-athletes for the softball team.
• Actively support and promote the NCAA’s Life in the Balance strategic positioning platform, embracing the six ideals of learning, balance, resourcefulness, sportsmanship, passion and service.
• Assist with daily field maintenance, preparation of scouting reports, and game management duties.
• Assist in creating and monitoring great expectations and the academic progress of all softball team members.
• Lead the operation of workshops, summer camps, clinics, etc. to promote the softball program.
• Maintain and manage team equipment.
• Assist in securing donations and sponsorships to support the softball program.
• Assist with arranging for lodging and meals for team trips.
• Assume duties of the head coach in his/her absence.
• Other duties as assigned.
