About The Position

Assistant Site Supervisors aid the Site Supervisor in overseeing all phases of a construction project from preconstruction to completion. Facilitates the communication between supervisor and on-site employees as well as subcontractors, vendors, clients, and administrative staff involved in the project.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform duties/activities of workers supervised
  • Have advanced framing knowledge.
  • Have advanced plan reading skills.
  • 3 Years’ experience of in Field Foreman experience
  • Have knowledge and experience in site management.
  • Have ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Fieldwire
  • Be certified or able to be certified in CPR, AED, and First-aid response.
  • OSHA 10-hour construction training is required, OSHA 30-hour construction training is preferred.
  • Should be capable of walking, lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and balancing.
  • Certain amounts of strength, dexterity and alternates is required.
  • Must follow all safety requirements of the job.
  • Lift up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Understand and execute Colt safety policy and Site-Specific Safety Plan while teaching others and intervening when proper safety protocol is not followed.
  • Work with Safety Team to improve safety for all employees on the job site.
  • Assist Site Supervisor with any tasks necessary.
  • Represent Colt in a professional manner to the client.
  • Lead and be the example to others representing Colt Focus Five values.
  • Mentor and develop other team members in the policies, procedures, systems, and technical construction means and methods used by the Company.
  • Have short & long-term plan for the career development of Foreman and Carpenters
  • Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Assist Site Supervisor to ensure compliance with the Colt SSSP, standard safe practices, and Colt cleaning, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in performing job specific employee orientation and safety training.
  • Ensure and participate in the performance of all Colt required safety documentation.
  • Report all incidents involving Colt Builders’ employees, subcontractor employee and Colt contract work to the Supervisor. Assist in investigating conditions and causes.
  • Monitor and report work activities of other trades to ensure they do not create safety hazards for Colt Builders’ employees.
  • Assist Site Supervisor in conducting weekly safety meetings with Colt Builders’ employees and subcontractor employees, and review safety issues encountered at the site.
  • Have all safety certifications and/or qualifications i.e., first-aid, CPR, AED, forklift operations, aerial/scissor lift operations etc.
  • Have operational knowledge of the JSI and RFI log.
  • Review and have knowledge of current plans.
  • Review and have operational knowledge of material takeoff, P.O.s and the Estimator’s Area of Use
  • Help Site Supervisor review shop drawings for all components for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Help Site Supervisor set up onsite storage and office.
  • Help Site Supervisor create jobsite binders.
  • Work with Site Supervisors to administer the overall job build plan and perform tasks as designated on the Management Roles document.
  • Help Site Supervisor keep track of all materials including components, loose lumber, hardware, and nails.
  • Receive materials and collect delivery slips for the Project Manager.
  • Help manage and direct subcontractor and employee labor.
  • Confirm RFI’s, ASI’s, Structural Reports and AWAs are being completed and documented.
  • Monitor and execute the framing schedule.
  • Participation in client and Colt required jobsite meetings.
  • Help coordinate framing operations with the customer’s field team and other trades.
  • Perform, document, and communicate Quality Control
  • Update Fieldwire with QC sheets, Tasks and Unit Sign-off sheets
  • Have operational knowledge and thorough understanding of the job’s estimate, schedule, budget, site plans, site logistics, management needs, site access, scheduling/ordering of cranes, man lifts, forklifts and rigging.
  • Manage hourly personnel for the job.
  • Aid in collecting and reviewing required timekeeping.
  • Receive all materials and manage shipping slips.
  • Assist in the completion of Daily Work reports noting manpower counts, weather, constraints, type of work being completed in each area, safety concerns and delays.
  • Work with the Site Supervisor to perform hiring, firing, and current employee Outlooks.
