About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a dynamic Assistant Site Director to assist in leading their Before and After School Program for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position is located at Lopatcong Elementary School in Phillipsburg, NJ, with a pay rate of $17.00 - $18.00 per hour. The schedule involves split shifts, with morning program hours typically between 7:00 - 8:00 am and afternoon program hours between 2:15 - 5:30 pm. A key benefit offered is employer-paid childcare for school-age children (ages 5-12) enrolled in the program on the days and hours the employee works.

Requirements

• Candidates must meet ONE of the following qualification options: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Child Growth and Development, or Teaching Certification from the Department of Education in Elementary Education, Nursery School, Preschool through Third Grade (P-3) or Teacher of the Handicapped. In addition, six Early Childhood credits and two years of experience working with children.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field other than those listed above. Plus, six Early Childhood credits and four years of experience working with children.
• Head Teacher endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals, Professional Impact New Jersey.
• Medical clearance to perform all job duties and be free from communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
• A warm, friendly, and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members.
• Professional, dependable, and punctual.
• Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff and program operations consistently meet state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements.
• Plan and lead engaging, hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
• Oversee daily operational tasks such as accurate attendance and registration tracking, scheduling, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers using the Playground App.
• Communicate regularly with your direct report to share updates, address concerns, and support a positive team environment.
