New York Junior Tennis and Learning (NYJTL) is one of the largest afterschool tennis and education-themed community organizations in the United States, serving more than 85,000 youth ages 5-18 every year across New York City’s five boroughs. The NYJTL afterschool program provides children with safe and nurturing environments where they can learn and thrive academically, while receiving critical support to reach their potential both on and off the tennis court. The program operates in elementary, middle, and high schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. NYJTL is seeking bright, dedicated individuals who have a strong interest in working with afterschool programs. The Assistant Site Director helps guide all functions of a site's daily programming, ensuring that all participants and staff are safe and engaged. Teaming with the Site Director, they are on-site before children arrive and are there throughout the duration of the afterschool program to ensure that the logistical needs of the program are met. They must have a strong commitment to youth development, and be willing to learn and implement new strategies to inspire students to be positive, thoughtful, and motivated to work hard. They are supported by, and collaborate regularly with our passionate Group Leaders and Activity Specialists.
