About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to help operate a shop location and provide excellent customer service. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided on managing a shop, changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and performing other light maintenance services. The company offers advancement opportunities, and over 90% of Shop Managers started as Crew Members or Assistant Shop Managers.

The role includes customer-facing and shop-floor responsibilities, vehicle maintenance, inventory support, employee training, and maintaining a clean shop. The Assistant Shop Manager assumes the Shop Manager’s responsibility and authority when the manager is absent.

Requirements

• Experience is valued but not required; must be willing to learn, work hard, and bring a positive attitude.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed.
• Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager when the Shop Manager is absent.
• Run the shop floor, ensure employees are in position, verify vehicle checks are complete, and confirm customers are satisfied before leaving.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.
• Train new employees to perform duties in the Take 5 way.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathroom.
