The Assistant Service Manager is a professional, detail-oriented individual who will work closely with the Service Manager and the Service Department Team to ensure smooth business operations and deliver a high-quality, positive customer experience. The main responsibilities will include supporting and assisting with customer and department team enquiries, ensuring a high level of service throughout the department, and contributing to the overall company’s success.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a shop foreman/assistant manager role, preferably in an automotive dealership or automotive service environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain professionalism during high-volume periods.
  • Self-driven to work independently with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid BC driver’s licence class 5 is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the manager with the day-to-day operations of the Service Department.
  • Assist in coordinating workflow among service team members and other departments.
  • Oversee daily service workload and prioritize work orders.
  • Oversee and guide technician workmanship and perform quality control for work in progress.
  • Track technician efficiency and shop productivity.
  • Assist in completing technician payroll.
  • Participate in training and growing employees to maximize performance and develop them to fulfill their potential.
  • Support resolving customer concerns in a timely manner and escalating issues to the manager.
  • Maintain open communication with customers regarding the status of their vehicles.
  • Assist in maintaining department procedures, safety standards, and dealership policies.
  • Facilitate best practices for productivity, efficiency, and overall department performance.
