About The Position

Sanford Research, in collaboration with North Dakota State University’s College of Health and Human Sciences, is hiring an Assistant Scientist. This position will be responsible for supporting faculty and scientists’ biostatistical needs in clinical research, as well as providing didactic instruction and student mentoring through the university. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in biostatistics, including methodology and design, hypothesis testing, bioanalytic approaches, and power analyses. Preferred candidates will have experience with clinical research, NIH grant writing, large data sets and teaching and mentoring. Candidates may have their own line of research. The Assistant Scientist plans, coordinates, implements and conducts independent scientific research, which includes complex laboratory testing, experiments and analysis following established protocols.

Requirements

  • Strong background in biostatistics, including methodology and design, hypothesis testing, bioanalytic approaches, and power analyses
  • High level of knowledge in scientific research processes, procedures, and objectives
  • Ability to implement experiments in the subject discipline with the ability to trouble shoot issues
  • Good knowledge of the principles and techniques of the subject discipline required
  • Ability to run complex pieces of equipment requiring advanced specialized training
  • Knowledge of modern research methods, data collection and analysis
  • Significant experience in analyzing and evaluating data
  • General level of knowledge of project management, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a research group or team
  • Doctorate degree in a clinical, health, or life science field
  • Minimum of three years post-doctoral experience in related subject field of study
  • Competitive publication record for rank and discipline

Responsibilities
