About The Position

Children of America (COA) is seeking an Assistant School Director for its preschool program. This leadership role offers the opportunity to move beyond the classroom and manage a team, influence school performance, support families, and gain experience in all aspects of school operations. The position is designed as a stepping stone to becoming a School Director, with close collaboration with the School Director and COA's regional leadership team. The role focuses on developing the necessary skills and experience for career advancement within the company.

Requirements

2–4 years of leadership experience
At least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare/early childhood setting
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, as required by the state
Confident leading, coaching, and motivating a team
Builds strong relationships with teachers, families, and leadership
Organized, proactive, and comfortable making decisions
Can handle challenges with professionalism and a solutions-focused mindset
Strong understanding of early childhood education
Committed to professional development and continued growth
Meets all applicable state licensing requirements

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of passionate early childhood educators
Partner with the School Director on day-to-day school operations
Help drive enrollment, team performance, and school success
Build meaningful relationships with families, teachers, and leadership
Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, scheduling, and staff development
Ensure the school delivers a high-quality educational experience
Help maintain compliance with state licensing requirements
Develop leadership and business skills with the goal of advancing into a School Director role
