About The Position

As an Assistant Safety Monitor Supervisor with HELP USA, you will oversee Safety Monitors on a shift at your assigned location within the Haven program in Manhattan, NY. The Safety Team serves as the initial point of contact for residents, ensuring their safety, making them feel welcome, and setting a positive tone for their stay. It is crucial for Safety Team members to be alert, vigilant, and courteous. Key responsibilities include patrolling facility grounds, ensuring proper sign-in procedures for residents and guests, escorting visitors to their destinations, conducting unit inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing incident reports as needed.

Requirements

• New York State Security Guard License.
• FDNY F-02 (30 days from date of hire to obtain).

Nice To Haves

• FDNY F-80 - Fire Coordinator/Fire Guard certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
• Experience or ability to work with people experiencing homelessness.
• Prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervising Safety Monitors on duty to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assisting in the development of training sessions for Safety Monitor Staff.
• Documenting individual staff problems as necessary.
• Preparing and submitting on time all necessary administrative reports including Incident Reports, Electronic Patrol Reports, etc.
• Patrolling facility grounds.
• Ensuring residents and guests are properly signed in.
• Escorting visitors to proper destinations.
• Conducting unit inspections.
• Maintaining accurate documentation.
• Preparing incident reports when necessary.
