About The Position

About Taylor Hospital A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography). About this unit 2 West is comprised of a twenty-three bed Med/Surg Unit and a twenty-three bed Post- Surgical Unit.  We have a very friendly staff who are welcoming and willing to mentor new RNs.  We manage medium to high acuity patients with a 5 to 6 patient ratio. Our team is passionate about patient care and shared governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
• Two years of clinical experience Required.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

Nice To Haves

• Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital, or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
