About The Position

We are seeking an active, organized, customer-obsessed, quality-driven individual with a can-do attitude to join our team as a Full-Time Assistant Retail Store Manager at our Ottawa Drive-Thru location. This role involves acting in the capacity of Store Manager during extended absences, ensuring the team delivers an outstanding customer experience, and contributing to daily operations. A significant portion of the shift will involve direct customer interaction, including scooping ice cream, making milkshakes, and assisting with purchases. The ideal candidate will lead by example, educate customers, coach team members, and manage sales targets and profitability.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a team lead role in retail/sales, restaurant business, or customer service.
  • A wonderful smile and great attitude working with a team.
  • Positive, friendly, and social demeanor with customers and team members.
  • Mature and reliable with strong communication skills and work ethic.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekend shifts, and federal/civic holidays.
  • Excellent coach, mentor, teacher, and communicator.
  • Ability to adapt and lead others in a constantly changing, high-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Physical ability to work long hours standing/walking and bending at the waist.
  • Tasks involve grasping using repetitive hand action and reaching above shoulder height.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing at least 11.3 kg (25 lbs).

Responsibilities

  • Act in the capacity of Store Manager during extended absences.
  • Ensure the team delivers outstanding customer service and the Kawartha Dairy experience.
  • Incorporate Pride systems and routines into daily operations.
  • Scoop ice cream, make milkshakes, and assist customers with purchases.
  • Educate customers about products and assist the crew with daily tasks.
  • Deliver feedback and coaching to team members, promoting a positive and fun atmosphere.
  • Respond to customer complaints and resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Meet sales targets and achieve profitability by controlling costs (labor, supplies, inventory).
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and delegate effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement store-specific strategies.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining and improving procedures for store inventory.
  • Follow procedures to maintain appropriate inventory levels, rotation, and control.
  • Analyze inventory variances and implement improvements.
  • Assist the Store Manager in establishing and maintaining work schedules.
  • Hire, schedule, and train staff in exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and supervise staff to achieve high levels of performance and customer service.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, productive team working environment.
  • Supervise staff in proper product preparation and handling practices.
  • Administer required documentation for payroll.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining communication with staff and customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve customer concerns or escalate as appropriate.
  • Ensure front-of-house offerings are prepared with the highest caliber of presentation.
  • Monitor and report on personnel practices.
  • Conduct performance reviews with all personnel.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions for staff and customers.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Store Manager with information and recording of documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely inventory control and ordering systems.
  • Monitor proper procedures and policies for effective cash management.
  • Ensure daily cash deposits to the bank.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining schedules and procedures for inspection and monitoring of store equipment, building, processes, and procedures.
  • Follow inspection schedules for equipment and building.
  • Provide for inspection and monitoring of processes and procedures.
