Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and positive Assistant Retail & Food Manager to join our growing team. The Assistant Retail & Food Manager partners with store leadership to drive sales, enhance merchandising, support kitchen and retail operations, and foster a customer-first culture at our Ellsworth, WI location.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of management experience (retail or food service preferred)
  • Deli, kitchen, or food service leadership experience required
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of retail fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience leading teams to achieve sales goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively
  • Stand for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to work in a food plant and retail environment
  • Adhere to all food safety and workplace safety regulations
  • Pass a drug & alcohol screen as well as a general background check

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with store management to lead daily retail operations
  • Enhance merchandising and displays to maximize visual impact and revenue
  • Partner with vendors to introduce new products and manage sourcing
  • Support promotions, events, and initiatives to drive sales
  • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
  • Coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to team members
  • Promote a customer-centric culture focused on achieving sales goals
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing plans
  • Model ethical conduct, safety, and compliance standards
  • Train new team members on operational procedures
  • Oversee kitchen operations including food prep, service, and sanitation
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory tasks
  • Maintain product labeling and POS systems
  • Support retail, production, and special events as needed
