About The Position

Prestonwood Country Club , a premier private establishment located in beautiful Cary, NC is in search of an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help lead our renowned restaurant, The Red Fox. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is primarily responsible for a la carte dining operations in the Red Fox Pub, Patio, Card Room, and special events outside these areas. This area of responsibility is the equivalent of running a high-volume, full-service casual and fine dining restaurant with the addition of member recognition (learning and using all members' names) and providing complimentary tea, coffee, and ice to members. The Assistant Manager's goal is to ensure every member who comes through these areas is greeted and made to feel welcome every visit and thanked upon leaving every time. Also, this position requires wine and food knowledge for ordering, suggestive selling, training, stocking, inventory, and updating menus/beverage lists used in the Red Fox Pub and additional dining areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary, hospitality, business, or any other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, Mondays, and as requested by Red Fox Manager and or Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Demonstrate an ability to provide excellent service to Members and their Guests.
  • Show excellent oral and written communication skills, previous use of POS systems, Word, and Excel.
  • The selected candidate MUST pass a background check, drug test, and be eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure every member who comes through these areas is greeted and made to feel welcome every visit and thanked upon leaving every time.
  • Wine and food knowledge for ordering, suggestive selling, training, stocking, inventory, and updating menus/beverage lists used in the Red Fox Pub and additional dining areas.
  • Attend all departmental and interdepartmental meetings to maintain communication with all Food & Beverage Outlets and other Departments.
  • Daily accounting of sales, cover counts, and labor.
