About The Position

WSP is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our Construction Management team in Raleigh. Your Impact Duties and Responsibilities: We are looking for an organized, highly motivated individual, capable of supervising and managing a construction management/ engineering field staff for a major heavy highway project. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff and multiple airport stake holders both in person and via two way communications. Ability to conduct preconstruction and construction progress meetings, coordinate multiple work locations, perform audit inspection throughout the construction process, coordinate for quality assurance inspection of completed work. Verify safety procedures are maintained. responsible for managing 5-10 direct report Construction Inspectors. Responsible for assuring all submittals, schedules, and other contract requirements are submitted and approved by the responsible stakeholders. Work with the Engineering office staff in preparing Change-Orders and estimates. Shall keep the Resident Engineer informed on all contract discrepancies and differing field conditions, consultants and other stakeholders. Who You Are Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in progressively more difficult and responsible construction management and inspection. Construction experience must include heavy highway transportation projects. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) Valid Driver’s License required. Trained in fall protection, scaffolding and ladders; permit required confined space; Work-zone Safety and minimum of 30-Hour OSHA construction safety training. Familiarity with NCDOT construction administration standards. Competent in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel.
