About The Position

The Assistant Resident Care Director is the right hand to the Resident Care Director in all operations of the nursing department. The position combines leadership, clinical expertise, and strategic planning to meet residents’ health and wellness needs and provide high-quality care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with on-call requirements.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Completion of state-required training.
• Ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, and the public.
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults.
• Ability to move at least 25 pounds without assistance.
• Physical stamina and ability to assist residents as needed and in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-move-in resident assessments and relay information to the Resident Care Director.
• Participate in resident service plan development and ensure plans are followed.
• Help select, hire, support, and mentor Resident Care Associate (RCA) staff.
• Conduct RCA training and in-services in accordance with company and state assisted living regulations.
• Schedule and conduct regular meetings with resident families in support of the Resident Care Director.
• Provide oversight of the S.A.M.M. program for residents.
• Provide for residents’ emotional and physical comfort and safety.
• Assist residents as needed and in emergencies.
