About The Position

Alto Wheaton is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Care Director (ARCD) to help lead their Wellness Team in their Assisted Living and Memory Care community. This role is an opportunity for an LPN or RN passionate about coaching teams, delivering exceptional resident care, and growing into senior clinical leadership. The ARCD supports the Resident Care Director (RCD) in supervising Assisted Living Services, ensuring resident needs are met. The role also assists the RCD in overseeing all phases of the Assisted Living Department's operations, including general administration and physical maintenance. Key goals include maintaining excellent service, quality care, high occupancy, effective communications, and high resident satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Active Illinois LPN or RN license required
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Licensed RN or LPN in good standing with the State Licensing Agency where the community is located.
  • CPR/AED certification is required.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior Living or Assisted Living experience preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in Geriatric, Long Term Care, or Assisted Living with Assisted Living Training preferred.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe environment for all residents, visitors, and associates through vigilance regarding infection control and life safety.
  • Work with Care Staff to create Resident Service Plans.
  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Department to assess prospects and new residents.
  • Work closely and maintain daily communications with the RSD in administering and managing the Department, to promote continuity of care and maintenance of services for the residents.
  • Maintain Department compliance with the operating budget through use of purchase order system and budget control procedures.
  • Supervise the Care Staff in giving day to day care to the residents (i.e., bathing assistance, health monitoring, etc.).
  • Assist with resident care activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
