About The Position

The Assistant Resident Care Coordinator supports the daily operations of the assisted living community by serving as a key point of contact for residents, families, staff, and visitors. This role combines resident care coordination, scheduling support, family communication, and front desk reception duties to help ensure high-quality resident care and excellent customer service in a Type II Assisted Living environment. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proficient with computers, scheduling systems, Microsoft Office, and email.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in assisted living, healthcare, senior living, scheduling, or customer service preferred.
  • Experience in a Type II Assisted Living community.
  • Knowledge of caregiving terminology and resident care coordination.
  • Prior receptionist or administrative experience in healthcare or senior living.
  • CNA certification

Responsibilities

  • Respond professionally and compassionately to resident and family questions, concerns, and requests.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding resident needs, appointments, and community updates.
  • Assist with resident admissions, move-ins, and transitions.
  • Document communications and relay important information to nursing and management staff.
  • Support resident satisfaction and help resolve concerns promptly.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining caregiver and staff schedules.
  • Coordinate shift coverage and communicate scheduling changes to employees.
  • Track attendance, call-ins, and staffing needs.
  • Help ensure proper staffing levels in accordance with Type II Assisted Living regulations and resident care needs.
  • Support department managers with scheduling reports and administrative tasks.
  • Serve as receptionist during weekday business hours.
  • Greet residents, families, visitors, vendors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls promptly.
  • Manage front desk operations including mail, packages, visitor logs, and office supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information.
  • Monitor building entry and assist with community safety procedures.
  • Maintain resident files and documentation accurately.
  • Assist with incident reports, care coordination paperwork, and general office organization.
  • Support compliance with state regulations, company policies, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Assist leadership team with projects and daily operational needs.
