The laboratory of Dr. Connie Krawczyk at the Van Andel Institute (VAI) is seeking a Research Technician. The Krawczyk lab aims to understand the mechanisms that regulate immune cell function, with an emphasis on epigenetics and cellular metabolism. This position is available immediately for a motivated scientist who meets the qualifications and description outlined below. The position will involve both lab support responsibilities and driving an independent project. The candidate should have education and experience in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and/or immunology. The candidate will work with Dr. Krawczyk and her research team to identify areas of interest and expertise that will facilitate the highest level of contribution to reach overall project objectives. As a technician in the lab, you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, epigenomics, metabolomics, and mouse models of disease. The Krawczyk lab is a strong team environment using a collaborative approach to most projects. An individualized training and development plan will be established and customized considering the individual’s career goals. Skills will be developed suitable to support an application to graduate school.
