Requirements

• MS degree in a related discipline
• 0-1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

• Background in Immunology is preferred.
• Substantial experience from having completed Post Doc training.
• Established a record of publications.
• Experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence.
• Competence in spectral flow cytometry.
• Cell sorting with high dimensional flow cytometry panels.
• Single cell culture.
• Tissue culture.
• Standard immunological assays including but not limited to ELISA, ELISPOT, mixed lymphocyte reactions, activation assays etc.
• Single-cell sequencing (10x Genomics or comparable).
• Preferred experience with pre-clinical models (mouse).
• Preferred competence in R and basic programming.
• Experience in data analysis including high dimensional flow cytometry and single-cell analysis.
• Background experience in B cell biology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops new ideas that promote current research, exercising creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.
• May manage lab operations for the Principal Investigator, supervising Post Docs and technicians, and overseeing the maintenance of instruments and laboratory facilities.
• Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects.
• May provide students with technical guidance and direction in sample preparation techniques, extraction lines, equipment operation, and general laboratory practices and safety protocols.
• May seek grant funding from external sources with consent of the PI and Department Chair, and may participate in writing grant proposals.
• May be responsible for research/lab quality control and compliance.
• May develop protocols for the collection and quality of research data.
• Develops research techniques and methodologies.
• May determine and establish laboratory policies, procedures, and practices.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of advances in specialized fields through attendance at scientific conferences.
• May make significant contributions to scientific papers, serving as a resource, author, or co-author for reports and presentations.
• May provide recommendations for equipment purchases and lab space redesign.
• May coordinate activities and experimental design between various labs, scientific staff, and collaborators, identifying and resolving technical problems.
• Initiates, interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates research assignments critical to the department's mission.
• Formulates and conducts research on problems of considerable scope and complexity.
• Explores subject areas and defines the scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or series of projects of lesser scope.
• Makes decisions and recommendations that have a major impact on extensive scientific research activities.
