The Cocoziello Institute of Real Estate Innovation at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Assistant Research Professor with expertise in digital twins for the built environment, building information modeling, and data analytics for buildings. This three-year term position, located at the University Park campus, involves 60% research, 30% project management, and 10% research advising. The successful candidate will lead the development of a digital twin strategy for the Penn State University Park campus, collaborate with faculty and industry partners, and guide students. Responsibilities include securing external funding and disseminating research findings. The role requires a highly motivated individual knowledgeable in relevant literature, capable of leading individual projects, writing grant proposals, and contributing to collaborative research. Key abilities include managing collaborative teams with industry engagement, designing/adapting technologies (especially digital twins and BIM for the built environment), strong communication skills, and knowledge of human subject ethics. Experience with industrialized construction, construction robotics, VR/AR, and AI is considered a plus.
