About The Position

Boston University’s Office of the University Registrar seeks an Assistant Registrar for Curriculum and SIS Catalog. This role works primarily to update the student information system’s course catalog and ongoing maintenance of MyBU, the University’s Student Information System. This role works alongside other staff in the Office of the University Registrar, particularly University Bulletin, and throughout the Enrollment & Student Administration unit. This role also partners with staff, faculty, and deans throughout Boston University’s schools and colleges and in other administrative offices throughout the University. The Assistant Registrar also works with some outside clients and vendors. This role reports to the Senior Assistant Registrar for Curriculum Management. The Assistant Registrar’s primary duties include: Providing operational support of the Curriculum process and data updates in the Student Information System’s course catalog at Boston University; Managing and performing the daily Curriculum Management change and add requests; Performing ongoing quality control checks on their own work and the departmental curriculum initiators; Providing periodic re-education on process and procedures with academic departments in the schools and colleges; Communicating regularly and accurately with internal and external clients. The Assistant Registrar employs a high degree of technological skill ensuring data integrity in the Student Information System (SIS) and the ability to navigate through integrated technology systems. The Assistant Registrar works relatively independently but may seek assistance for complex tasks. This role is expected to set priorities in consultation with others and to maintain confidentiality of information.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience are required for this position.
  • Experience working in higher education and experience with information systems or large databases in higher education is required.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of data entry accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and analyze data; recognize anomalies and apply updates methodically
  • Familiarity with data entry, data integrity, and information auditing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to compose clear documentation
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, establish priorities, and perform well under pressure
