About The Position

The Assistant Ranch Fore Drive-On contributes to and assists the Ranch Manager in overseeing ranch activities and fryer production. The role supports the grow-out process, including ranch setup, brooding, temperature and ventilation management, mortality monitoring, vaccinations, and medications, while helping maintain conditions that meet high quality standards. The position helps maintain ranch facilities and coordinate needed materials, service calls, and maintenance. It supports production cost control, accurate recordkeeping, staff training, and supervision of production activities. The role also requires enforcing sanitation, safety, animal welfare, and disease prevention standards, and responding to alarms, emergencies, and adverse conditions that could affect the chickens. The Assistant Ranch Fore works with feed mill dispatchers and drivers, maintenance personnel, staff at other ranches, and field supervision. Work may take place at other ranches or complexes as needed. The schedule may include overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends, and shifts vary.

Requirements

Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills in basic English.
Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to respond as necessary to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
Must be able to work as scheduled or needed, including overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Must be able to enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies on anyone working on the ranch complex.
Must be able to work at other ranches or complexes as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist the Ranch Manager in overseeing assigned fryer and ranch activities.
Assist with fryer grow-out activities, including ranch setup, brooding, temperature and ventilation management, mortality monitoring, vaccinations, and medications.
Maintain ranch facilities and coordinate with maintenance for materials and service calls.
Follow and enforce sanitation procedures, monitor bird health, and report abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor.
Respond responsibly to emergencies and adverse conditions affecting the chickens, day or night.
Assist the Ranch Manager with controlling ranch production costs, including labor, fuel, supplies, utilities, medications, and maintenance.
Maintain accurate and complete records of ranch activities, including feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy consumption.
Assist with training ranch personnel and delegating duties.
Adhere to and enforce company safety, animal welfare, and disease prevention guidelines.
Coordinate as needed with feed mill dispatchers and drivers, maintenance repair personnel, other ranch personnel, and field supervision.
Supervise and direct production functions on the assigned ranch, including setup and cleanup, brooding, vaccination crews, maintenance repair, feed delivery, and relief personnel.
Enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies for anyone working on the ranch complex.
Work at other ranches or complexes as needed.
