About The Position

The Assistant QSR Manager at Eataly Chicago plays a pivotal role in supporting the QSR Manager with the daily operations of the Quick Service Restaurant. This position is instrumental in fostering team development, providing comprehensive training, and ensuring the consistent execution of high standards across service, food safety, and coffee production. The Assistant Manager is responsible for actively managing shifts to guarantee smooth service delivery and an exceptional guest experience. This includes overseeing daily and weekly QSR operational tasks, managing staffing coverage, making real-time labor adjustments, and stepping in as manager-on-duty when necessary. A significant aspect of the role involves leading the onboarding and training of new QSR team members, with a specific focus on authentic Italian coffee service and Bassett coffee production techniques. The Assistant QSR Manager is also tasked with ensuring all team members are thoroughly trained on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), food safety standards (Serve Safe), and service protocols. Continuous coaching and feedback are provided to elevate overall team performance and operational efficiency. Furthermore, the role encompasses assisting with inventory management, including counts, ordering, and product organization, with a particular emphasis on coffee and specialty beverage production. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and compliance throughout all QSR areas is also a key responsibility. The Assistant QSR Manager is expected to cultivate a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment, actively supporting employee engagement, retention, and various training initiatives. This role also involves performing other duties as required or assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the QSR.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in food service or hospitality leadership.
  • Serve Safe certification required.
  • Hands-on experience in Italian coffee service, Bassett coffee production, and QSR food production.
  • Strong training, coaching, and team development focus.
  • High-energy, hands-on approach to operations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, drink blender, and cash register.

  • Supports the QSR Manager in daily operations, focusing on team development, training, and consistent execution of service, food safety, and coffee production standards.
  • Actively manage shifts, ensuring smooth service and strong guest experience, supporting execution of daily and weekly QSR operational tasks.
  • Supports staffing coverage and real-time labor adjustments, supporting as manager-on-duty as needed.
  • Leads onboarding and training of new hires in QSR, including Italian coffee service and Bassett coffee production.
  • Ensures all team members are trained on SOPs, food safety standards (Serve Safe), and service protocols.
  • Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to elevate team performance and operational execution.
